Paige Thompson | Hooper Law
Paige is a Paralegal at Hooper Law, a plaintiff personal injury law firm servicing Southern Ontario. In her day-to-day role, the biggest challenge revolves around the astronomical amount of time she spends sorting through medical records.
Even for a small case, Paige could spend hours reviewing files and hours looking through pages that might be unrelated to the goal she’s trying to accomplish. Not having a streamlined and organized way to carry out her reviews heightened the challenge - every time the firm receives a new medical set, Paige has to recall the case details and incorporate new files and notes into what they’ve already put together.

Paige was an early adopter of SiftMed and quickly embraced its chronological timeline and filtering capabilities. Having case files automatically sorted into chronological order was a huge lift from her previous process - the ability to filter time periods or keyword search specific details in a large set further enhanced her review and streamlined her process.
She shared one example of how SiftMed quickly helped her find key points in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) case. With over 2,000 pages in the set, Paige needed to quickly find exactly what was mentioned in a particular part of the case. Using keyword search, she was able to locate the exact details almost immediately.
Earlier this year, SiftMed launched its first iteration of our Index. Paige notes, “SiftMed was always a huge step in the right direction, but the Index was life-changing.” She doesn’t pull a timeline without an Index anymore and she can use it to make things more custom to their needs on a case.
Since using SiftMed, Paige is saving time on her medical reviews, compiling records for the lawyers review, and creating legal packages that are readily available for the legal teams. She can quickly pull up specifics on a case, create notes, and with the click of a button, she can export all of her notes along with the documents.

Paige commented on how it was to learn SiftMed’s platform. She acknowledged that anytime someone uses new technology there’s often a fear of ‘messing things up.’ People are afraid to do things in a new system because if they do something wrong there are consequences - but says that SiftMed isn’t like that.
“The way that things are organized, it’s easy to follow and everything makes sense.”
Paige and her peers find SiftMed to be very user-friendly and they don’t have to worry about making mistakes or deleting data inside of a case. If they can’t find a page, they can remove their filters and easily find it again.
